I rolled over and hit the snooze button on the alarm clock...........I did not want to get up. The days events were seemingly full and my feet had not even hit the floor!
It started as the same routine; getting everyone up and ready for school, packing lunches and making sure all backpacks were ready to go. As I am shewing the kids out the door, I begin to feed and water the dogs, and inhale a Pop-Tart myself. Without even giving a thought I find myself locking the door. Yeah..........If I lock myself in, then that means I have locked the world out! I have no desire to get dressed, do last nights dishes, wash the mounds of laundry that clutter my floor, put things away, answering the phone and heaven forbid if the UPS guy comes: HE WILL JUST HAVE TO COME BACK!
I am not getting dressed and I am going back to bed............yes............back to bed. I will set the alarm and make myself get up and dressed about an hour before the kids come home, they will never know. As for myself I just feel blah, useless and like giving up!
Sound somewhat familiar?
The good news is, God gives us His words to reflect upon on.........................
"Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid of them! The Lord your God will go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength." Isaiah 40:29
"For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."2 Corinthians 6:16
"But the Lord is faithful; he will make you strong and guard you from the evil one."
2 Thessalonians 3:3
So.........If you wake up in the morning and this is how you are feeling, try the following:
1.Do what you have to do
2.Get showered and dressed
3.Eat a decent breakfast
4. Spend some time in God's Word(You can always start by reading 1 Proverb and then 1 Psalm)
5. Last but not least, talk to God , Thank Him, Praise Him and ask Him for the strength that you need.
